Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

In a nutshell coaching involves splitting out the process and the content from the act of thinking. A professionally trained coach will skilfully manage the thinking process to give the client free rein to create ideas, answers and solutions. Freed up from the process of thinking, an effective coaching conversation can be exhilarating and powerful. a new question go to app settings and press "Manage Questions" button.

How did coaching develop?

The origins of coaching come from the 1970's world of professional sports. Trainers of top athletes began to recognise that achieving their goals was as much about self-belief and a positive mental attitude as it was about natural talent and technique. From the world of sports, the next stage in the development of professional coaching was in the boardrooms of the world's top companies. These major companies started to understand that their senior executives had to be treated like sports stars if they were to achieve everything they were capable of. More recently, in the last twenty years developments in neuroscience have confirmed the principles coaching is based on, and the developments in neuroscience have identified new, effective and proven approaches to personal development.

Who is coaching for?
